Safe Streets & Neighborhoods
Are the Nevada Way
As a former Clark County Sheriff, Governor Lombardo knows how important it is to keep our communities safe. He has made improving public safety a top priority since taking office.
Unfortunately, irresponsible laws like AB 236, passed by legislative Democrats and signed by former Governor Steve Sisolak, have made our communities less safe, weakening criminal penalties for deadly drug crimes that have led to a worsening fentanyl crisis. They've also reduced penalties for smash-and-grab retail theft, to the point that California has tougher laws on crime than our state.
To strengthen public safety in our communities, Governor Lombardo is proposing the Safe Streets and Neighborhoods Act.
